Mel Edwards is the Global CEO of the Wunderman Thompson network, and oversees its 20,000 employees across 90 markets, including creatives, data scientists, technologists, and storytellers.

Under Mel’s leadership, Wunderman Thompson has become one of the most awarded networks for creativity and innovation, including prestigious Cannes Lions Grand Prix awards in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The network has been named by Contagious as one of the ‘Best and Bravest Agencies on the Planet’, and in 2023 was crowned Campaign’s ‘Global Integrated Network of the Year’ and named as a ‘Standout’ agency on Ad Age’s A-List.

Mel is recognized as one of the most influential people in the industry, featuring on Campaign’s A-List, The Drum’s Digerati, and Ad Age’s European Women to Watch, and has appeared on the HERoes Top 100 Women Executives for three consecutive years. In 2023 she was named Business Woman of the Year in Marketing and Communications at the European CEO Awards, and Agency Leader of the Year at the Campaign Global Agency of the Year Awards.

Mel and her husband Rich live in London with their two teenage children, Honor and Mack, where they enjoy spending time with their beloved dog Whiskey.
